Anime Expo

Hey, all~! Just another news update today~ And yes! ZOMG! Three updates in 2 days! Meh, got a problem?

Anyway, I went to Anime Expo 2011 yesterday (July 3rd), and spent the whole day running around with my best friend! In actuality, it was awesome! I had only gone to AX before once, in 2009. When I went there, I went into the Expo Hall, walked around, and that's all. This year, my friend showed me how much that AX really has!


Before the Expo Hall opened (10:00, we got there at 8:00-8:30), we went into the video hall and watched Kanon, then after we explored the Hall for a few hours, we ate then went to another video hall and I got to see Kekkaishi! I was confused about what the story was about for the first couple episoodes, but she was able to guide me through it fine enough~ ^^;;


Anyway, there was so much Pokemon merchandise there! There was a bunch of fan art in the Artist Alley (in which I bought 3 pieces, 2 that were Pokemon and 1 of Pikmin), and a LOT of plushies! I even saw some chibi versions of new Pokemon~ :3 One place that I got excited about was a booth selling things that you cannot find anymore, including the original (Japanese) Pokemon Red and Green Versions! A few more were there, but it was awesome!

As for cosplayers, there were Pokemon ones everywhere. Of course there a few as Ash, a couple as Misty (Woot~), but sadly I only saw maybe one Brock... A lot of people were dressed as Pikachu, I saw Dawn and even Ruby (Brendan), and some Piplup! One group I liked was a Pikachu, Piplup, and even a Quilava~! That was cool and nicely made. Of course there was a Bianca and I even saw Cheren, with quite a few Blacks and Whites (the main characters from Pokemon BW), and to complete the "collection," at least a couple Ns!! X3 Strangely, there was even an Arcanine o3o" And finally, another than I liked was a few people as Umbreon~! That was a good one~


I know this is mostly rambling, but I thought I'd let people know of all the true-blue Pokemon fans that attend the AX every year! Have fun~! :3

Hey, readers! Sorry for the delay in posting! I've been very busy the last few days, actually. ^^" Last week was a bit up and down, then Saturday was prom, and I was busy earlier with some personal stuff~ Anyway! Here is my next (slightly delayed) Pokemon of the Week! Umbreon~! Umbreon is my favorite Eeveelution (tying closely with Espeon). So I hope you guys enjoy all of this, and I'll see ya' again soon!

Overview:

Ah, Umbreon. Outclassed by many, he still has his own niche in the OU tier~ This along with being one of a few singular users of Baton Pass, he combos well with Mean Look! With his defenses, and a little predictability, our black fox-ish friend here can take down an opponent, or if used well, prepare a team-wide sweep! There's not much more to say about our Dark Eevee, but I would recommend him to anyone~ Especially if they like to use near-gimmicky Pokemon~ |3

Umbreon @ Leftovers/Chople Berry

Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP, 128 SpDef, 128 Spd
Nature: Careful
- Baton Pass
- Mean Look
- Wish
- Taunt

A simple set which is easy to use if you do it right, and can help your whole team out~ Baton Pass is the crème de la crème of this set. With his great Defenses and nice HP, Umbreon can almost guarantee a Pass with many options! Due note this usually works best with a previously passed Speed boost, such as from Ninjask.. o3o" Anyway, you can Taunt to prevent opposing Taunts (this is important), then you can Mean Look to lock the enemy in while you pass to something that can resist it completely. You can even Wish to heal Umbreon's HP while trying to Pass, or heal whoever you Pass to! For example, let's say you lock a Choice Pokemon on a Fighting-Type or Bug-Type move, you can switch to an advantaged Gyarados, do a couple Dragon Dances, then proceed to sweep over half of the opponent's team! That is awesome~! As for the item, I usually prefer Leftovers to help Umbreon's survivability, but I find that Umbreon is Fighting-fodder. As in, he's a magnet for the damn things >> So sometimes a Chople Berry will save you, if you have trouble with them. One good strategy can be to lure in a Fighting-Type, lock it in on the switch, then Pass while the hit is absorbed by the Berry. If you switch to a Ghost or Psychic Pokemon, fun times will be had~ Enjoy~~! >:3

Update w/ Apologies

Big News!

Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late again, I got distracted with some "personal projects" of mine, so I haven't had much time to write. Anyway, I got some time (and memory) so now I can bring you some news! I know most of you probably either already know this, or don't even read the blog much to keep up with events, but this is a big one for some people!

Well, if you've been watching me or Serebii at all, and keeping up with Pokemon data, well, you may like what's happening soon! :3 For those of you who went onto the Pokemon Main Site and played the minigame for the Dream World Eeveelution, you're in luck now!

The event for the Eeveelutions has finally come to a halt, so the main site has announced that they will soon be adding in the Pokemon you unlocked into the Dream World! It is currently unknown as to how you finally get it in the PGL, whether by small minigame, or just straight to your Friend Board in your Dream Home, but either way, we will soon have them!! X3

Anyway, please, DO NOTE THIS!! The Eeveelutions are not in the Dream World right now. Nintendo only announced that the event to get them has ended, so they will soon be placing them in the Dream World. Stay tuned here for announcements as well, as I will let you know when you will be able to pick up your respective Pokemon...

First Global Link Event

Hallo again, readers! :3

As my next post I decided to be a bit more... informative with it. As some of you may already know of, the new Pokemon Black & White games can connect online to an area called the Dream World, where we can send one of our Pokemon over WiFi, then play with it here on our computers!

Anyway, the Global Link (which is the host site of the Dream World) has not been activated in the US yet, and has been pushed back due to the recent disasters in Japan. Well, the Pokemon GL should be out soon enough, hopefully this month, and Nintendo has released their first GL-related Event for us! If you go onto the Pokemon Trainer's Club website (link below) and login, you get to play a game! It's a simple Brick-Breaker-esque game where you collect dropped orbs. Whichever orbs you collect the most of will determine the Eeveelution you get at the end (ie. more Water Orbs will give Vaporeon, more Psychic Orbs will give Espeon)! At the end, it tells you which Eeveelution you received, and you have the choice to keep that one, or play again for a new one. Caution! You only get to keep one that you choose, so choose wisely! Once you do this, you can later retrieve your new Pokemon, who will be waiting for you in the Dream World!

So, the thing about these special Pokemon is that they have their special Dream World abilities, which are otherwise unobtainable! Some of these are a bit trivial, while others help the Pokemon immensely! So, if you would like to go and play the game, use the link below and login to the Pokemon Trainer's Club. Have fun!
